•    1 is neither prime number nor composite number. 
•    2 is the only even number which is prime, remain all even number are not prime. 

Types Of Numbers: 
1. Natural number: 
All counting numbers are called natural no but not 0.
Ex: 1,2,3,4.5, 23,02, 

2.Whole number
All counting number & 0 are whole no. Ex: 123,3,3,0

3. Integers: 
All counting number, 0 and –ve number.  Ex; 1,3,4, -4, -53.

4.    Composite number
 Natural number which is greater than 1 & not prime are called composite no. Ex: 4,6,9,15. 5.    

5. Prime number
Number that is divisible by 1 and itself and 2 is only even no which is prime.  
Ex: 2,3,5,7,11 are prime no.   
Here 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 are divisible by 1 and itself so these numbers are prime no. but if we take 4 then it is divisible by 2 & 4. so it is not a prime no.

6. Co Prime number
Two number are said to be co prime if there H.C.F. is 1. Ex: (3,5), (4,5), (3,8). here if we divide 5 with 3 then we get 1 remained, so it is a co prime no.

7. Rational number
Number who is in the form of p/q. p & q are integers and q is not equal to 0. Ex: 22/4.   

8. Irrational number
Those number which when expressed in decimal form are neither terminating nor repeating decimals.

9. Real number
Rational & irrational number combined are called real no. Ex: 22/9,  

10. Complex number
These number are represented in terms of a+ib. where a & b are real no.
